The Best Korean Skincare For Hyperpigmentation

Korean skincare is extremely popular in the west these days and for good reason. It's typically formulated to be gentle but highly effective, leaving the skin look healthy with a glass-skin finish. However, with so many products it can be hard to find the items that are worth the money, or will work for your skin concerns. So, this is my list of Korean skincare that I have tried and tested, that I found worked especially well for my hyperpigmentation, dark spots and uneven skin tone.
Cleansers
Some By Mi: Yuja Niacin Brightening Cleanser - This has niacinamide and 11% Yuja extract, working to both cleanse and brighten the skin. It starts off as a gel texture, but turns into foam with water, and has a really lovely citrus smell, if you like your cleansers to smell good. After I use this, my skin definitely feels smooth, and looks hydrated and bright. It's fast become a favourite of mine and works really well for sensitive skin. However, if you are looking for something with a bit more oomph, I suggest the next cleanser.
Anua: Rice Enzyme Brightening Cleansing Powder – Anua has a few amazing products and this is one of them. It's a cleansing powder, that gently exfoliates with AHA's. It works best in double cleanse routine as a second step, – I prefer it at night to make sure all my makeup is removed, - but it can also be used as a weekly face mask. This product is simply amazing. My skin looks so radiant and clear after using it, and it doesn't leave my face really dry. This is always my second step now in a double cleanse.
Toner
Numbuzin: No.5 Concentrated Pad – Absolute holy grail for me. If you have older scarring, very dark pigmentation or marks that just won't seem to fade no matter what you do, get these! I promise you, you will not regret it. The Numbuzin pads have two sides and basically work like an injection of Vitamin C into the skin. Apply it to your face via the soft side first, leave for about ten to fifteen minutes, then use the other side to gently exfoliate. The difference these have made to my hyperpigmentation is actually mind blowing. Come hell or high water, I will always be using these in my routine from now on. If there's any product I'd say run right now and purchase, it's these.
Serums
Goodal: Green Tangerine Vitamin C Serum – This is actually my current morning serum and I like it a lot. I find it's lightweight texture and formulation is really nice paired with other products and it sits well under makeup. This has 70% fresh green tangerine extract and 4% niacinamide to help tackle dark spots and, it has definitely helped to even my complexion and keep my skin hydrated. It's not the most powerful of serums, but it is gentle, affordable and will go far in the getting the job done.
Anua: Niacinamide Dark Spot Correcting Serum – This is a little powerhouse of a serum, especially when paired with the Numbuzin pads. Like most Korean products, this is formulated to be gentle on the skin, but it does contain 10% Niacinamide and 4% TXA, both of which are designed to leave the skin looking radiant. I've been using this consistently and I don't think I've ever had brighter looking skin. I am glowing girl!
Anua: Peach 70% Niacinamide Serum – If you're looking for a serum that leans more towards uneven skin tone, or light hyperpigmentation, I'd suggest this. It's a luminous skin serum infused with both peach and niacinamide, designed to give you a bright, glass skin finish. This was the first serum I tried from Anua, and I liked it a lot. Though it didn't really lighten my more stubborn marks, but it did help a lot in maintaining radiance in the rest of my skin and combat newer acne scars.
Moisturiser
Chogongjin: Dark Spot Correcting Cream - This is a lovely product, and though not as affordable as the others in this list, I do think it's worth the money. This moisturiser provides both lasting hydration and fades the look of dark spots, due to it's radiance-boosting pearls. However, atleast for me, this left me with a matt finish, which personally I like, but if you prefer a dewy, glowy look this might not be for you. However, out of all the Korean moisturisers I've tried, this is definitely my number one for leaving me with a boosted, radiant complexion.
